Best Quick Service Restaurants at Epcot

Visiting Epcot and trying to pick between its many great dining options and trying to make your pick? We’re here to help. In this post, we’ll discuss the Best Quick Service Restaurants at Epcot. Since these options are so varied, we actually just cover all the quick service options, with a focus on identifying our favorites and helping you pick the one that’s right for you. Let’s get to it!

Quick Service at Walt Disney World

Just in case you’re not familiar with what “quick service” means: quick service meals are those meals where you typically order from a cashier, pick up your food at a counter, and find your own seat.

Disney dining plans divide meals into quick service and table service, the latter (not covered here) being where you’re seated and have a waiter. During your Disney vacation, you’ll probably have a mix of these types of meals.

Dining Options at Epcot

There is one quick service restaurant in the Future World section of Epcot—Sunshine Seasons (Electric Umbrella is now closed). Around the World Showcase, there is roughly one restaurant at each of the pavilions, though as we’ll see not all of these are complete quick service restaurants. Most are open for lunch or dinner, though a few smaller shops are open for breakfast.

In addition to the restaurants covered in this post, there are scattered snack carts throughout the park. Some of these have really cool options, like the shaved ice at Kabuki Cafe in Japan. They don’t make this list simply because they’re just a little too limited in their menus, but you definitely should keep your eyes open.

And of course, when it’s festival season (so, most of the year), Epcot’s festival booths will have unique offerings. Food and Wine Festival has the most booths, but every festival has a few. You can replace at least one meal with some snacks from festival booths.

Finally, there are several table service restaurants at Epcot, which this post does not discuss. Each of the World Showcase pavilions has at least one table service restaurant, except for The American Adventure, and there are a few table service options in Future World.

Best epcot Quick Service Restaurant For…

Before we get into the restaurants specifically, I wanted to help you organize some of the options. Epcot’s quick service options are varied, with some having bigger menus for the whole family, others having just one or two items, and others being best for dessert. So here’s a quick breakdown to guide you in picking a restaurant…

Best for Meals — Regal Eagle Smokehouse (American Adventure), Sunshine Seasons (The Land), La Cantina (Mexico Pavilion), Lotus Blossum (China Pavilion), Katsura Grill, Tangierine Cafe (Morocco Pavilion)

Best for a Go-To Item — Sommerfest (Germany; Bratwurst, Frankfurter), Pizza al Taglio (Italy; Pizza, Meatball Hero), Yorkshire County (United Kingdom; Fish and Chips), Refreshment Port (Canada; Poutine)

Best for Desserts — Kringla Bakeri (Norway), Les Halles Boulangerie (France)

Obviously if everyone in your group wants a Bratwurst, go to Sommerfest, but if you need a bigger menu, somewhere like Regal Eagle or Sunshine Seasons is going to be better.

Picking The Best Quick Service Restaurants at Epcot

Epcot’s variety of cuisines presents a unique challenge in identifying the best quick service restaurants. On the one hand, many people just want to know “what’s the best quick service restaurant at Epcot?” And I do feel like I can give some sort of an answer to that.

On the other hand, the quick service options at Epcot are so incredibly varied, it’s sort of silly to rank them. Your personal preference between Tangierine Cafe and Lotus Blossom Cafe is going to come down to whether you prefer Moroccan food or Chinese food, and I’m not about to tell you which to prefer.

So I’m going to “split the difference.” I’ll start with our picks for the four best quick service restaurants at Epcot. While it’s mostly personal preference, each of these offers something unique that earns it a spot in that group. Then we’ll proceed to the rest of the quick service restaurants at Epcot.

The Best Quick Service Restaurants at Epcot

Here are our four favorite restaurants at Epcot.

Regal Eagle Smokehouse (The American Adventure, Menu)

Regal Eagle is the newest addition to the Epcot quick service lineup. The restaurant, at The American Adventure pavilion, specializes in “craft drafts and barbecue.”

Options like the Sliced Texas Beef Brisket Sandwich and South Carolina Smoked Sausage Sandwich are mouthwatering too guests looking for typical “American” fare.

There’s a good amount of both indoor and outdoor seating, and guests primarily interested in the craft drafts aspect of the restaurant can use the walk up window outside. Regal Eagle Smokehouse is also the only Epcot quick service with mobile ordering.

Sunshine Seasons (The Land, Menu)

Sunshine Seasons is a bit of a hidden gem. The restaurant in the lower level of The Land pavilion has several different stations to order from, giving it a wide range of options like Mongolian Beef, Oak-grilled Salmon, and a Barbecue Pork Sandwich.

There’s ample seating, and it’s entirely indoors. It’s not as scenic as the next two options, but it has a menu that gets the job done. If you’re looking for table service, Garden Grill is also in The Land and offers character dining.

Tangierine Cafe (Morocco, Menu)

Tangierine Cafe is an intersection of good food and good ambiance. Morocco is personally my favorite pavilion in the park, and while I don’t think Tangierine Cafe is excellent in either design or food, it offers the chance for many guests to try something new in a cool setting.

Menu items include Mediterranean Lamb Wrap, Shawarma Chicken Platter, and Tangierine Couscous Salad. There is a mix of indoor / outdoor seating.

Katsura Grill (Japan, Menu)

Katsura’s food isn’t likely to blow your socks off—the sushi is prepackaged in plastic containers, for example—but it is one of the best settings in the park.

We’ll usually grab sushi at Katsura as a snack just to have an excuse to visit the seating (which you can do without ordering food, like most quick service restaurants). Katsura offers sushi, udon, ramen, and teriyaki.

The Rest of the Quick Service Restaurants at Epcot

We already discussed Sunshine Seasons in The Land pavilion, the main quick service restaurant in Future World (a few smaller kiosks / stands exist, but we’re passing on those here).

Now let’s move onto the World Showcase. While you’re considering your options around the eleven World Showcase pavilions, consider also bookmarking our post on How to Say “Thank You” Around the World Showcase. Then when you make your quick service order, give the Cast Member a friendly, local “thank you.”

La Cantina de San Angel (Mexico, Menu)

La Cantina has a variety of Mexican options that most Americans are familiar with, from tacos to empanadas and nachos. For a typical guest, this isn’t going to be outside their comfort zone. The food is fine, but it’s the seating, on a patio overlooking the World Showcase Lagoon, that really shines.

Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe (Norway, Menu)

Kringla is more of a snack spot than a quick service restaurant. It’s actually almost a hidden gem (Frozen hype has no doubt improved traffic), sitting between the Meet & Greet and Frozen Ever After.

While they do serve a few sandwiches, it’s really the snack options that shine, including Lefse, the Troll Horn, and of course, the Norwegian Kringla. There’s a small amount of covered seating outdoors.

Kringla Bakeri is across the pavilion from Akershus, the popular table service character meal.

Lotus Blossom Café (China, Menu)

Lotus Blossom Cafe offers a menu of what it calls “Chinese favorites”—orange chicken, fried rice, egg rolls, and others. If you’ve ever ordered Chinese food in the United States, you’ll have a pretty good idea of what to expect, although the menu is relatively limited.

There is a good amount of covered seating, though I’d prefer to be as close to the outside as possible to enjoy the view of the rest of the beautiful pavilion.

Refreshment Outpost (Outpost, Menu)

Refreshment Outpost is a small stand in the “Outpost” (aka Africa Outpost) area between the Germany and China Pavilions. Its only full-time items are a small Nigerian Meat Pie and a hot dog, but it also serves seasonal snacks.

Sommerfest (Germany, Menu)

Sommerfest has a very limited (or efficient) menu—Bratwurst, Frankfurter, two sides, and two desserts. The walkup stand is easy to miss in the back of the Germany Pavilion, but it’s right outside the entrance to Biergarten. There’s a small amount of outdoor seating in the heart of the pavilion.

Pizza al Taglio (Italy)

Pizza al Taglio holds the dubious distinction of being such a mystery that even the Walt Disney World website doesn’t seem to think it exists:

Screen Shot 2019-11-26 at 1.10.07 PM.png

But it does exist! DIS recounts that it has had a strange, semi-seasonal history, so it’s tough to say what to expect any given day, but for now we’re treating it as a real spot.

Pizza al Taglio is a window just outside Villa Napoli in the back of the Italy Pavilion. It serves pizza and, as of November 2019, a Meatball Hero. There’s a small amount of outdoor seating next to the window.

Pizza al Taglio does not appear on Disney’s list of restaurants on the dining plan, so I’m unsure if you can use a dining plan there.

Fife and Drum Tavern (American Adventure, Menu)

Fife and Drum Tavern is a snack stand in the American Adventure Pavilion that primarily serves turkey legs. There is a small amount of outdoor seating in the pavilion (more will appear when the quick service restaurant reopens).

We’ve covered the main quick service options at the American Adventure, Japan, and Morocco in the “Best of” list. That brings us to France.

Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie (France, Menu)

Les Halles is the main quick service restaurant in France, but, like Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe, it’s really more about snacks and desserts than full meals. Les Halles does have a significantly larger menu than Kringla, and much more seating. You can find sandwiches, but we recommend just coming here for some dessert.

Les Halles is located in the far back left corner of the pavilion. En route to it, you’ll also pass by the ice cream shop, and Les Halles itself shares a space with the France pavilion’s gift shop.

Notably, it’s also open before the World Showcase opens. There are often Cast Members positioned on the bridge into the France Pavilion, but they’re there to warn people everything other than Les Halles is closed, not to keep you from getting to the France Pavilion. (You cannot access the rest of the World Showcase before 11AM, though.)

There’s also a dessert crepe stand in the pavilion we don’t want to ignore. Les Halles does not appear on Disney’s list of restaurants on the dining plan, so I’m unsure if you can use a dining plan there.

Yorkshire County Fish Shop (United Kingdom, Menu)

Yorkshire County Fish Shop is a fish and chips stand in the UK Pavilion, next to Rose & Crown. It serves Fish and Chips, chips being the British term for what Americans call “French Fries.” There is a small amount of outdoor seating, including all the way down by the World Showcase Lagoon.

Refreshment Port (Canada, Menu)

While it flies a bit under the radar—Disney doesn’t even consider it a part of the Canada pavilion—Refreshment Port is a small stand that serves poutine, a Canadian specialty.
