Looking for a quick bite at Disney World but don’t know what the best options are? We’ve got you covered. In this post on the Best Quick Service Restaurants at Disney World, we point you in the right direction at each park. If you’re looking for more information about a specific park, we link the guides about each park in the first part of this post. Read on to learn about quick service restaurants at Disney World!
QUICK SERVICE AT WALT DISNEY WORLD
Just in case you’re not familiar with what “quick service” means: quick service meals are those meals where you typically order from a cashier, pick up your food at a counter, and find your own seat. Disney dining plans divide meals into quick service and table service, the latter (not covered here) being where you’re seated and have a waiter. It’s also worth noting that none of the quick service restaurants have character dining. All the character dining opportunities at Walt Disney World are table service meals.
This PDF has all the quick service restaurants at Disney World listed.
We have posts discussing the best quick service options resort-wide and at each park:
Best Quick Service Restaurants at Walt Disney World (you are here)
In this post, we’re going to give you one top pick from each park, one runner up from each park, and the same for Disney Springs. While the first pick “the best”, the rest aren’t specifically ranked because it’s not like you’re going to leave Magic Kingdom to visit Hollywood Studios for better quick service. We also added a hotel pick, along with a pick from each water park, at the end.
In any case, here’s the list of best quick service restaurants at Walt Disney World, followed by more analysis:
Satu’li Canteen, Animal Kingdom
Docking Bay 7, Hollywood Studios
Regal Eagle Smokehouse, Epcot
Columbia Harbour House, Magic Kingdom
Flame Tree Barbecue, Animal Kingdom
Leaning Palms, Typhoon Lagoon
Warming Hut, Blizzard Beach
BB Wolf’s Sausage Co., Disney Springs
Geyser Point Bar & Grill, Wilderness Lodge
Best Quick Service Restaurant at Disney World
Our pick for the best quick service restaurant at Walt Disney World is Satu’li Canteen in Pandora at Animal Kingdom. This isn’t a shocking pick, but popular things tend to be popular for a reason, and that’s the case with Satu’li Canteen (menu).
Satu’li’s speciality is the “Satu’li Bowl,” which allows you your choice of protein (beef, chicken, shrimp, tofu), base (noodles, rice, beans, potatoes, salad) and sauce.
Build-your-own bowls is not a revolutionary concept, but it works wonderfully at Satu’li for a few reasons. It feels healthy and fresh (I’m no nutritionist) which is a big departure from the common theme park food like burgers and super greasy pizza.
It also allows you to put together a meal that’s close to what you’re looking for. For example, I get the salad when I need something refreshing after a day when I’ve been eating junk all day. I get the potato hash when I’m hungry and feel like I need carbs.
And you can top it all off with some fun themed items. There’s the green beer of Pandora, and the famed blueberry cream cheese mousse.
Hollywood Studios
Like Epcot (below), Hollywood Studios is blessed to have a new quick service restaurant that is a step above the rest. Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is easily the best option at Hollywood Studios.
While you’ll find decent pizza / burger / TexMex options scattered around the park, it’s Docking Bay 7 (menu) that offers the most diverse lineup of quality options.
They’re struggled a bit to get the names right, but you’ll find pot roast, pork ribs, and shrimp salad among other options.
We don’t find the theming particularly impressive (I mean…it’s literally themed to a cargo hold…that just isn’t too exciting…), but that’s picking nits when you consider the great food quality.
Runner Up: Woody’s Lunch Box, Toy Story Land
Epcot
Epcot’s quick service options are so varied that it’s almost silly to try and pick a best one. There’s little point in comparing the Chinese quick service to the Mexican quick service to the English quick service, because you probably can pick between them on cuisine alone.
But it’s not a stretch to pick Regal Eagle Smokehouse in The American Adventure pavilion as the best option at Epcot. Regal Eagle Smokehouse (menu) is the newest quick service at Epcot, but it has distinguished itself with an amazing lineup of BBQ meats.
Picking American food in a park with such variety isn’t particularly inspired…but that’s sort of the point of this pick. The previous restaurant here sort of phoned it in as “the American option,” but Regal Eagle is actually worth a visit even in a park with the most diverse food in Walt Disney World.
Runner Up: Tangierine Cafe, Morocco Pavilion
Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom’s quick service options are mostly a traditional theme park lineup. You’ll find an Italian spot, a TexMex spot, a hot dog spot, a seafood spot, and a few burger spots that also pull from the other restaurants.
So picking the best option at Magic Kingdom is less about comparing the quality or even specific menu items, but more about what type of cuisine you want.
If you put that question to the side, though, our pick at Magic Kingdom is Columbia Harbour House (menu). Columbia Harbour House is primarily a seafood spot, playing off the theme of coastal Colonial America.
Our love for Columbia comes down to the theming. The restaurant is a treat to walk around, as you’ll find cool model ships and old maps adorning the walls. The restaurant also has great seating just over the Liberty Square to Fantasyland pathway—great for people watching (pictured above).
Runner Up: Casey’s Corner (Hot Dogs), Main Street USA
Animal Kingdom
Since our pick for best quick service in Disney World was Satu’li Canteen at Animal Kingdom, we’re going to give a bit of attention to our runner up at Animal Kingdom—Flame Tree Barbecue (menu).
Flame Tree is, like Regal Eagle, a location that does barbecue right. Ribs are the specialty here, but the 1/2 chicken and pulled pork options are also fan favorites.
One big advantage Flame Tree has over Satu’li is its beautiful outdoor seating. Yes—at 2PM on an August day you’re going to prefer to be inside—but the outdoor seating at Flame Tree has some of the best views in Animal Kingdom, and it’s actually one of our favorite spots to escape the crowds at Disney World.
Disney Springs
Disney Springs has a large restaurant lineup, and it’s quick service restaurants are mostly chains. It’s a bit under the radar, but we’d recommend checking out BB Wolf’s Sausage Co. It’s a stand in the Marketplace area of Springs, but it has a deep lineup of specialty sausages, including things like the New York Pastrami Reuben hot dog and the Hawaiian Island Dog.
You can also grab a dole whip for dessert nearby at Marketplace Snacks.
Runners Up: Blaze Pizza, D-Luxe Burger (D-Luxe is the only Springs restaurant with mobile order)
Typhoon Lagoon
The water park restaurants are more utilitarian than the theme park restaurants. Typhoon Lagoon’s main option is Leaning Palms, a broken-down-beachside-resort themed restaurant with a large menu with standard quick American fare like chicken salad, pizzas, and burgers.
Runner Up: Typhoon Tilly’s (seasonal)
Blizzard Beach
Blizzard Beach’s quick service lineup is a little trickier than Typhoon Lagoon’s because there isn’t one place with a huge menu. Our recommendation is Warming Hut, a smaller stand in the south end of the park. You’ll find semi-interesting options like Barbecue Turkey Leg Crunch, Loaded Potato Barrels, and the Honey Butter Chicken Sandwich
Runner Up: Blizzard Beach’s main quick service restaurant is Lottawatta Lodge, but it has a notably smaller menu than Leaning Palms at Typhoon Lagoon, but you’ll still find a few popular items like a burger and a Cobb salad.
Hotels
This little section is mostly just for fun. Presumably you aren’t picking your hotel based on the quality of its quick service restaurant, and you’re unlikely to go out of your way to visit a quick service at another hotel.
In any case, the quick service menus at the hotels change a lot. We’ve seen some of our favorite items disappear in recent years, so it’s best to not get too attached.
But we do have a pick—Geyser Point Bar & Grill is our favorite Disney World hotel quick service. Geyser point is a newer restaurant at Wilderness Lodge, and it falls nicely into its role as casual hotel bar and grill.
What we love most about Geyser Point is the environment. It’s near Bay Lake and the Wilderness Lodge Fire Rock Geyser, which makes for a great, natural lodge feel. It’s also open air, but shaded, making it a perfect place to relax while hanging out at the hotel.
Runner Up: Capt. Cook’s, Polynesian Village Hotel
