Disney World Hotel Refurbishment and Construction Schedule

If you’re planning a trip to Disney World, you probably want everything to be perfect for the dollars you’re spending. That means you probably don’t want to arrive to a closed pool or a freshly gutted lobby. In this post, we’ll outline the major hotel refurbishment and construction going on at Disney World!

About This Post and Related Posts

This post focuses on construction work at Disney’s hotels in Disney World. We have a separate post addressing ride and attraction refurbishments and closures.

As always, for the most certainty you’ll want to visit the Disney World website, consult with a travel advisor, or check forums / social media for recent guest reports. Most of the information here is direct from the Disney World website. When it isn’t, I try to link to a source.

This post is usually dated as of its most recent update, but I’ll sometimes make small updates without changing the date.

This post is organized by hotel tier (value, moderate, deluxe & DVC). I provide a link to my tier-specific post to start each section, but you might also consult our Guide to the Hotels of Walt Disney World.

  • 2027 Skyliner Refurbishment: From January 24, 2027 through January 30, 2027, Disney Skyliner will be closed for refurbishment. Complimentary bus service will be available.

Coronado Springs

port Orleans Riverside

  • Room Refurbishment: Through August 2027, guest rooms will undergo refurbishment throughout different parts of the resort. During this time, Guests may see or hear construction work in the area. This expands a previous room refurbishment notice that covered Magnolia Bend only and ended in February 2026. Presumably this notice means the Alligator Bayou rooms will get refurbished next. You can track this project closely at PortOrleans.org.

port Orleans French Quarter

Refurbishments at Deluxe & DVC Resorts

Animal Kingdom Lodge

  • Kidani Room Refurbishment: From October 2025 through May 2026, guest rooms at Kidani Village will undergo refurbishment. (Here’s one of the first looks I’ve seen of these rooms)

  • Jambo Room Refurbishment: From May 2026 through January 2027, guest rooms at Jambo House will undergo refurbishment.

Beach Club Resort

  • Exterior Maintenance: Work on the exterior of the resort is ongoing into 2027. All pools, resort dining and most other amenities will remain available.

  • Leisure Pool Refurbishment: From mid-January 2026 through early May, the Tidal leisure pool (not the feature pool, Stormalong Bay) will be closed for routine maintenance.

Boardwalk Inn

  • General Refurbishment: Disney has given a new, ambiguous notice about seemingly lengthy working going on at BoardWalk Inn. Beginning late November 2025 and continuing throughout 2026, refurbishment work will take place in select areas of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. Guests may see or hear work during daytime hours. Most amenities will remain available. Here’s a look at some of what’s going on in late February 2026 via WDWNT.

  • Pool Etc. Refurbishment: From January 11, 2027, through April 2027, the Luna Park Pool, the Luna Park Crazy Play Area and Leaping Horse Libations at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn will be closed for refurbishment. Guests may see and hear work taking place during daytime hours. The Villas Pool and the Inn Pool will remain open for Guests to enjoy.

Contemporary Resort

  • General Refurbishment: Through late 2027 (updated from July 2026), refurbishments will occur in phases throughout select areas including the atrium and Bay Lake Tower. “The Main Tower will undergo exterior maintenance beginning March 23, 2026.” Emphasis is mine—after the rooms and lobby got updated, it now seems the Atrium—the large area of space, stores, and restaurants in the middle of the Main Tower—will be getting a revamp.

  • Bay Lake Tower Skybridge, Elevator Work: Beginning late March through Late May 2026, exterior elevator landing repairs will take place at Bay Lake Tower. From March 30 Through May 1, 2026 the Skyway bridge connecting Bay Lake Tower and the Main Tower will be closed weekdays 9AM to 5PM.

  • Bay Cove Pool Refurbishment: From January 26, 2026 into early May 2026, The Bay Cove Pool, the Cove Bar, the water play area and the whirlpool spa at Bay Lake Tower be closed for maintenance. This is the DVC side of the resort, but it may lead to increased crowds in the hotel area, as the Bay Lake Pool, the feature pool, the water play area and the whirlpool spa at Contemporary will remain open.

Fort Wilderness Cabins and Campground

  • Meadow Swimmin’ Pool: Into mid-2026, construction will take place near the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool area. The Meadow Swimmin’ Pool and Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool will remain open but seating availability may be limited and Guests may see or hear nearby construction.

  • Disney Lakeshore Lodge: Disney Lakeshore Lodge, a new DVC complex, is being added to the Fort Wilderness area. There is little impact to the resort itself, but construction is visible. Lakeshore Lodge opens in 2027.

Grand Floridian

  • General Refurbishments: Renovations at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will continue in select areas, including the porte cochere, through early 2027. Guests may see or hear refurbishment work during daytime hours or need to take alternate paths of travel. Most pools, dining and other amenities will remain available. (Note that the extensive lobby refurbishment is done, this work is in other, more limited areas of the resort.)

  • Grand Floridian Cafe Refurbishment: From mid-July through October 2026, Grand Floridian Cafe will temporarily close for refurbishment.

Old Key West

  • Pool Area Refurbishments: Through late April 2026, the South Point Pool and Spa, BBQ area and playground at Disney’s Old Key West Resort will be closed for routine maintenance. Other pools remain open.

Polynesian Village Resort

  • ‘Ohana views: ‘Ohana views of the Seven Seas Lagoon are potentially obstructed due to construction.

  • Roadway Rebuild: Through 2026, various areas of the resort, including the front entrance roadway and bus area, are being redesigned and refurbished. All Resort dining, pools and amenities will remain available.

Riviera Resort

  • 2027 Skyliner Refurbishment: From January 24, 2027 through January 30, 2027, Disney Skyliner will be closed for refurbishment. Complimentary bus service will be available.

Saratoga Springs

  • Treehouse Refurbishment, General Refurbishment: Work will take place through mid-September 2026, including refurbishment of the Treehouse Villas.

Tennis Court, Basketball Court Refurbishment: Beginning March 23 and continuing until June 2026, the tennis courts and basketball court will be closed for refurbishment.

  • The Turf Club Bar & Grill and The Turf Club Lounge Refurbishment: From mid-March through mid-September 2026, The Turf Club Bar & Grill and The Turf Club Lounge will be under refurbishment.

    • The Turf Club Lounge will be closed from early April through early August 2026. During this time, The Turf Club Bar & Grill will remain open with a pop-up bar serving a modified menu.

    • The Turf Club patio will close from early to mid-August 2026

    • The Turf Club Bar & Grill will then close from mid-August through mid-September 2026.

Wilderness Lodge

  • Exterior Maintenance: Exterior work on Copper Creek and Wilderness Lodge will continue into late 2026. The update on the DVC website specifies “These enhancements may impact views from various locations throughout the Resort. While most resort amenities will remain available, Guests may see and hear construction work during daytime hours.” Personally, I find the lack of specificity here a bit annoying, particularly for a resort that trades heavy on ambiance.

  • Boat Dock Refurbishment: From April 13 through late July 2026, the boat dock Wilderness Lodge will be refurbished. The dock will be closed and boat transportation temporarily suspended from April 13 to May 1.

Yacht Club Resort

  • Exterior Maintenance: Work on the exterior of the resort is ongoing into late 2026. All pools, resort dining and most other amenities will remain available.

  • Leisure Pool Closure: The Admiral leisure pool (not the main Stormalong Bay pool!) will be closed for routine maintenance through early May 2026.

  • Restaurant Refurbishment: Crew's Cup Lounge will close February 23, 2026, with reopening expected in May 2026. Yachtsman Steakhouse will close in May 2026 (seemingly beginning May 11), with reopening expected by August 2026.
