Genie+ Modify Option Debuts

On December 9, 2022, Walt Disney World’s Genie+ service will finally have a much requested feature—modifications. We’ll be covering the debut of this feature on instagram since we happen to be in Florida. Then we’ll update our content more thoroughly.

For now, I want to quickly note what this means for most guests. This post assumes basic familiarity with Genie+ and Lightning Lanes.

Under the pre-modification system, you basically had to be certain a Lightning Lane was what you wanted before picking it with Genie+. Yes, if you saw a better time come along for a different ride you could cancel your current pick and try to grab the better time. But chances were that better time would be gone by the time you got through the process, and then your original time would also likely be gone.

Now, with modifications an option, you can grab the first option that looks good and then proceed to try and modify, finding a better combination of ride / time.
